Participatory sculptural drift-worm
Cashhole
The artist would appreciate your support. Please put your money where his mouth is.
The parasite
This little parasite accepts cash, feeds on generosity and will always want more.
Cashhole is a microsculpture and functioning money box, 3D-printed in red photopolymer resin. Its parasitic body turns the relationship between artist and society into a blunt transaction.
The work caricatures the contemporary artist as an organism forever dependent on subsidies, tips, patronage and grants: always asking to be fed, incapable of being satisfied. It is both a sarcastic self-portrait and an ironic illustration of cultural production’s dependence on support.
