Black raspberry sculpture opening to reveal a blue larval self-portrait

Rebirth usually promises a new, higher form. Mine is more modest.

I return to my first refuge — the wild raspberry thickets. Inside, the viewer finds me, not as a human, but as a larva, a comical, vulnerable, primordial self-portrait, hidden away where I feel truly safe, truly at home.
